Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Environmental Health Professionals has been approved for two (2) continuing education contact hours (CECH) by Your Training Place Online, a continuing education Accreditation Agency for California registered environmental health specialists. This course meets OSHA's training requirements for employees who have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens (Bloodborne Pathogens Standard - Federal OSHA 29CFR 1910.1030, and CalOSHA Title 8, Section 5193.

Although this online course deals with bloodborne pathogens and infection control in the body art industry, it teaches strategies, procedures, and principles that can be applied in any setting where occupational exposure may occur.

While taking this course, students can ask the instructor questions via phone or live chat, and upon successfully completing the course they can print a Certificate of Completion. Students have access to the course for one year after the date of registration.

  • Identify common bloodborne pathogens, their symptoms, and their paths of transmissions
  • List the steps to follow after an exposure incident; list the steps in a post-exposure evaluation and follow-up
  • Explain how signs, labels, biohazard symbols, and color coding are used to communicate hazards
