• Complies with OSHA initial and annual bloodborne pathogens training requirements.

The Body Art Training Group is pleased to announce that the Oregon Health Licensing Agency has officially approved our online Nationwide course, “Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control Training”, for meeting the bloodborne pathogen training needed by tattoo artists, body piercers, and PMU artists for both initial licensure and renewal (Agency Approval Number: 2012-03ET).

In addition, Oregon has approved this class for two hours of continuing education credit for electrologists. This approval reflects both the quality of our training and our commitment to helping licensees meet their regulatory responsibilities with confidence.

This means Oregon body art professionals can rely on a single, focused course to satisfy state requirements for bloodborne pathogen certification.

The course also complies with the initial and annual bloodborne pathogens training requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA requires that workers who may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials receive training that is specific to their job tasks. Our program explains exposure risks, routes of transmission, infection control, engineering controls, work practices, and post-exposure procedures in clear language tailored to body art professionals.

Because the course is delivered entirely online, body art practitioners can complete their training at their own pace, from almost any location and device. After successfully completing the lessons and final assessment, students can immediately print a Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate of Completion. This certificate may be submitted to the Oregon Health Licensing Agency, kept on file to document OSHA compliance, or shared with employers as proof of current bloodborne pathogens training.
