Policy Update Notice

Upcoming Changes to Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Body Art Training Group has updated its Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to explain our courses, identity-verification practices, refunds, privacy practices, and customer rights more clearly.

Effective as of September 20, 2026
Please review the updated policies before the effective date.
The Terms in effect when you purchased a Course continue to govern that Course. If you do not agree to the revised policies, do not use the Site on or after September 20, 2026, except as permitted under the Terms governing a Course you previously purchased.

Terms of Use

Summary of Changes to Our Terms of Use

Effective as of September 20, 2026

Dispute Resolution

Mandatory arbitration has been removed. Disputes are now resolved in Florida courts, and either Party may bring an individual claim in small claims court in Pinellas County or in the county where you live.

Before either Party files suit, the Party with a claim must give written notice and allow sixty (60) days for informal resolution. Class actions and jury trials remain waived.

Identity Verification

Section 13 now describes the full identity verification process for the Los Angeles County and Florida bloodborne pathogens courses. Providing the last four digits of your Social Security number is optional but improves the chance that EVS, our ID verification provider, can locate you. If it cannot, you will be prompted when you begin the course to submit a government-issued photo ID through a secure link, which we use to create your ID verification questions manually.

Users who are not U.S. residents, or whose preferred language is Spanish or Vietnamese, must submit ID because EVS is less able to verify identity electronically in these circumstances.

Identity verification applies only to the Los Angeles and Florida courses. If we cannot verify your identity, you may request a refund.

Age Requirement

Account holders must now be at least 18. We no longer permit registration by an emancipated minor or with parental consent. If we learn that a person under 18 has registered or purchased a course, we will delete the account and the personal information associated with it, and refund any course fee paid for a course that has not been completed.

Individual Accounts

Every user must have their own account, regardless of who purchased the course. Where a course is purchased or provided for another person, that person must complete registration, identity verification, and the course themselves.

Certificates and Licensing

We have added new language clarifying that completing a course results in a certificate of completion only. It does not confer a license or authorization to practice. Licensing requirements, including minimum age, are set by the jurisdiction where you intend to practice.

How long a certificate stays valid also depends on the jurisdiction. Some expire one year after completion and state the expiration on the certificate; others remain valid so long as you maintain your license and state only the completion date.

Certificate Revocation

We may revoke a certificate for fraud, material misrepresentation, or other intentional misconduct, based on a good-faith belief formed after reasonable investigation.

Before revoking a certificate, we will now notify you, explain why, and give you at least fourteen (14) days to respond before acting. Once revoked, the certificate number will no longer be verifiable through the Certificate Verification Tool.

Expired Courses

If your course expires before you complete it, you may ask us to restore your access. We may do so at no charge for thirty (30) days. Completing the course in that period now clears the incomplete entry from your transcript.

Transcripts

We have newly defined what your transcript contains, who can see it, and that we retain records for at least five (5) years.

Discontinued Courses

If we stop offering a course for sale, you now keep access to any course you have already purchased for the rest of your access period, including any extension or restoration of access we provide.

Free Courses

We have added new language clarifying that courses provided at no charge are subject to the same Terms as purchased courses, except that no refund is available. The access period runs from the date access is granted.

Course Problems

If you hit a broken link, content that will not display, or cannot advance through a course, contact us. We will correct it and extend your access period as needed, rather than the prior fixed 30-day warranty window, so the time lost does not count against you. If we cannot fix it in a reasonable time, you may request a refund.

Gift Vouchers

This section has been removed. We do not currently offer vouchers.

Acceptance and Updates

For material changes, we will now give at least thirty (30) days' notice before the change takes effect, rather than notifying you after the update is already live. Continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The Terms in effect when you purchase a course continue to govern that course.

We now retain prior versions of these Terms for five (5) years and will provide them on request.

Refunds

We previously did not offer refunds except in narrow circumstances. A full refund, for any reason, is now available for any course purchased directly through the Site within sixty (60) days of purchase if you have not completed the course.

Translation

Pages on the Site, including these Terms and the Privacy Policy, can be viewed in Spanish or Vietnamese using the Site's translation tool. This is an automated translation and may not be fully accurate. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls.

Privacy Policy

Summary of Changes to Our Privacy Policy

Effective as of September 20, 2026

Your Privacy Rights

We have added a new section describing rights available to all users, regardless of where you live: to know what information we hold, receive a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop marketing emails.

It also explains how to make a request, our response times, how to appeal, and the limited cases where we may decline to delete records we are required to keep.

Identity Verification

We disclose the information we collect, that submitting the last four Social Security digits is optional, that EVS is our verification provider, and that ID copies are submitted through Jotform, our secure form provider, where access requires two-factor authentication.

This information is used only to verify identity and investigate suspected fraud. ID copies are deleted from our systems and Jotform's promptly after your verification questions are created.

Minors

We have expanded our minors policy beyond the prior under-13 notice. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not request date of birth at registration. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it, which closes the account and invalidates any certificate issued to that person.

Who Receives Your Information

We now name the specific service providers who receive your information — including LearningCart for hosting, Google for email, EVS for identity verification, and Jotform for secure form collection — and confirm they may use it only on our behalf.

No Sale or Sharing

Our prior Policy stated that we may use advertising cookies and remarketing or retargeting platforms, though we never used them. We have removed that language. We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising cookies, remarketing, or retargeting services.

Because we do not engage in these practices, there is currently no opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, to honor. If that changes, we will honor those signals and update this Policy.

Retention

We have added a new section stating how long we keep transcript records, registration information, and copies of government-issued photo identification.

Updates to This Policy

For material changes, we will now post a notice on the login page and on the Privacy Policy page at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect, rather than notifying you individually by email after the fact.

Account Changes

Name changes now require contacting us for all users, not only those who have completed identity verification. A verified identity still requires ID to support a name change.

Contact by Phone

We have added new language clarifying that we may call you about your account or Course.

Certificate Verification Tool

We have added new disclosures: the tool cannot be searched by name, it does not indicate whether a certificate has expired, and a revoked certificate or closed account will show as invalid.
